Name: Community Discussion Series: Exploring Alternatives for Local Economies
Date: March 12, 2019
Time: 12:00 PM - 12:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
When the Global Economy falters or fails leaving communities damaged, what are the People to do? What is the “default economy” they will fall back on in the event of a minor or major collapse of the global economic order, or even a local manufacturing plant closure? Progressive communities around the world are thinking along these lines and are actively and proactively working to develop robust local economies, not just as a buffer but as a joyful rediscovery of local culture. Join us for a moderated community discussion facilitated by a panel of local presenters representing agricultural, business, political, medical and cultural realms of our community. Presenters will share readings and explore Visions, Reasons, Examples and Inspiration for declaring, developing, and maintaining a sovereign local economy, as well as facilitate open, constructive discussion with attendees.
